JLo, Tiesto Collect Massive Paychecks for Lavish Indian Billionaire Wedding Gig — Great Work If You Can Get It

Jennifer Lopez headlined an extravagant Indian billionaire wedding this week, turning heads and securing a monster paycheck.

A lavish Indian wedding this week saw a headline performance from Jennifer Lopez alongside a welcome party set from DJ Tiesto. The three-day celebration, held between November 21 and 23, took place across Udaipur to honor the wedding of U.S.-based pharmaceutical heiress Netra Mantena and New York tech entrepreneur Vamsi Gadiraju.

The bride is the daughter of Orlando’s Rama Raju Mantena, chairman and CEO of Ingenus Pharmaceuticals. The groom is the co-founder and chief technology officer of Superorder, a U.S.-based software platform used by restaurants with multiple locations to manage delivery options.

Celebrations began on the evening of Thursday, November 20, with a welcome party featuring DJ Tiesto. Jennifer Lopez reportedly performed some of her biggest hits at Friday’s sangeet pre-wedding ceremony on Friday, including “Get On the Floor,” “Waiting for Tonight,” “Save Me Tonight,” “Get Right,” and “Ain’t Your Mama.” She was accompanied by dancers, and made several costume changes. The performance also marks her first visit to India.

Lopez also attended the wedding ceremony on Sunday, dressed in a custom sari by Manish Malhotra. She took the stage again later that day for the reception to perform more of her hits, like “Jenny from the Block” and “Let’s Get Loud.” Later in the evening, South African DJ Black Coffee also played a set.

The reception took place at the Leela Palace on November 23, one of the city’s most expensive luxury hotels. The pre-wedding ceremonies called the haldi, mehendi, and sangeet are common to many regions of India. The haldi and mehendi took place at the Taj Lake Palace, while the sangeet took place at the City Palace complex, before the wedding itself at the Jagmandir Island Palace.

The wedding cost an estimated $6.7 million, taking into account all expenses across the many venues, guest accommodations, and performer fees. JLo reportedly secured an approximately $2 million paycheck for the event.
