Lady Gaga Cancels Miami Last-Minute—Rescheduling ‘As Quickly As Possible’

Lady Gaga cancels her Miami concert last-minute due to vocal strain, but vows to reschedule “as quickly as possible.”

Lady Gaga was forced to cancel her Miami concert Wednesday night due to vocal strain that her doctor and vocal coach told her posed “significant risk” to her voice. The “Abracadabra” singer said her team is trying to reschedule the show “as quickly as possible.” No information about the rescheduled date was available as of Thursday morning.

The pop star’s latest Miami stop is part of her “Mayhem Ball” tour across the U.S., which began on July 16 in Las Vegas. She performed two shows in Miami at the Kaseya Center on Sunday and Monday, before cancelling Wednesday’s show.

Gaga took to Instagram to explain the situation to fans. During rehearsal on Tuesday and Wednesday, her voice was “extremely strained.” Both her doctor and her vocal coach advised her to reschedule the show to give her voice a rest.

“I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you, but I don’t want to risk long-term [or] permanent damage on my vocal cords,” said Gaga in her Instagram Story. “Even though this was a hard and agonizing decision, I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice.”

“I love my fans so much, respect you and hope you can accept my sincere regretful apology,” she added, calling the postponement a “disappointment, letdown, inconvenience.”

Her next stop takes her to New York City before she heads up to Toronto. She then heads back to the States for a final run in Chicago, before going overseas for shows across Europe, Australia, and Asia. The tour concludes on December 13 in Sydney.

Meanwhile, Gaga is getting fans ready for the spooky season with her latest video, the Tim Burton-directed “The Dead Dance.” Released this week, the video was filmed on Mexico’s Isla de las Muñecas, known for its variety of differently colored dolls.

The video made its debut alongside the release of Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2, in which Lady Gaga makes a cameo.
